WHY DID WE MOVE?
An early morning phone call while on their annual vacation in Canada on Sept. 25, 2004 not only changed their vacation plans, but changed John & April's lives!
Every restaurateur's worst nightmare (FIRE) had become reality, as Spaghetti Junction burned to the ground in a mere hour and a half, while the Tortola Fire Dept. was just able to stand by and watch helplessly, due to mechanical failures of all their water pumps.
The cause was officially blamed on poor wiring in other parts of the building, but no explanation could bring back the years of hard work & love put into the building that housed Spaghetti Junction and the Bat Cave.
John & April were devastated, but immediately vowed to reopen as soon as possible! Tirelessly searching for locations to relocate their business, they soon found the owners of The Beach Club Terrace looking for someone to take over their building & business, so they could retire. They were hoping to find someone who would continue their own 40-year tradition of serving the finest local cuisine in the country.
They signed their lease and immediately set out to renovate and reopen. Construction crews worked 18 hours a day and completed the major renovations to an already beautiful building in record time and The (new) Bat Cave re-opened its' doors on October 31, 2004 for a blockbuster Halloween Party.
Completing all renovations by November 15 allowed the "NEW" Spaghetti Junction to open to rave reviews from all customers - old and new, alike.
The ambience is elegant, and the building is majestic, with an abundance of arched doorways & French glass windows, tiled floors, chandeliers, and huge Romanesque pillars throughout, as well as rich, dark, wooden tables and chairs.
Breezy and roomy, the restaurant dining room looks more like it belongs in Italy or New York, rather than in a small Caribbean country. Located just across the street from the BVI Fishing Marina, diners have a wonderful view of Road Town across the Outer Harbour.
Spaghetti Junction & the Bat Cave (and April & John) have found their new "home" along with their friendly, efficient staff, continue their own 12-year tradition of excellence as well as that of the Beach Club Terrace.
